Match Report
The lads played for the first time today after a two week break and carried on were they left off win a good home win.
F.C Rangers were the latest team to visit Seafield Rd and found us down to a bear eleven with the absence of both of our goalkeepers and one outfield player due to illness.
However it was Y.M.C.A who took the lead when a great through ball from captain Owen Futter put through Chris Clinch (MOM) who neatly placed his finish into the corner for his first of the game.
The second came not long after and was straight out of the top drawer when new signing Sam Warburton registered his first goal for the club with a superb strike from twenty five yards out that flew into the roof of the net.
The lads were then caught cold and due to a mix up at the back F.C replied to make the score 2-1.
Our third came near straight from the re-start after a good ball down the right from the solid Ellis Hancox found David Cartmell who deliverd a pin point cross straight on the head of Kit Gregory to nod home.
F.C were then awarded a dubious free kick on the edge of our box and it was fired straight in the top corner past the helpless stand in goalkeeper Tommy Harrison who stood no chance.
Order was soon restored as Kit Gregory turned provider with a neat move down the left involving Jacob Anderson saw a cross land at the feet of Chris Clinch who's skilful turn enabeled him to slot the ball home for his brace.
The fifth came after a great counter attack down the right that was probably the move of the game.
It started with James Corbett playing the ball to Ellis Hancox who played a firm pass to the feet of Jordan Milligan who in turn played a couple of very neat one two's with Sam Warburton who then slotted in David Cartmell and it was his well placed strike beat the keeper at his near post.
The final goal of the half saw again Kit Gregory working well down the left hand side with Chris Clinch who's ball fell to Josh Clayton with an intelligent lay off in the box to Jordan Milligan to make the score 7-2 going into half time.
The second half strarted much of the same way with roles reversed as it was Josh Clayton who knotched his first of the game to make it 8-2 after five minutes of the re-start with an accomplished finish.
The scoreline then stayed the same for most of the second half as Y.M.C.A could not capitilise on a host of chances created and extended pressure all throughout the second half.
With five minutes to go F.C were gifted there third of the game but they were not to have the last say as Jordan Milligan wrapped the game up with a great individual goal after a break down the right the defence opened up and he drove on towards goal to see his effort nestle in the bottom corner.
Overall a good job done today in difficult conditions with the lads playing in a unfamiliar system and some of the lads doing a stint in goal for the team. ( Tommy Harrison, Kit Gregory and James Corbett. Well done lads )
