THE JOSHUA ALDRED MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 2010 IS COMING!

In 2009 the first Joshua Aldred Memorial Tournament raised over £1,000.00 for charity. This year the tournament will be held on Saturday 8th May at YMCA's Seafield Road Ground in Lytham. So if you are a team manager or club coach visiting our website, please contact our manager Ron Evans to reserve your place in this fantastic tournament which is exclusive to Under 10s teams for season 2009/10 (7-a-side).

We are also looking for individual or group sponsorship for tropies (cost £150 - £200) and referees (£35 each). So if you're a local business or fancy putting some money towards local charities please contact Ron to get involved.

We also have space available in the programme to advertise your business at the rate of £50 per half page or £100 for a full page.

We look forward to welcoming teams from far afield to this fantastic festival of football.

WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE INKMASTERS POULTON PRIMARY LEAGUE DIVISION 1B CHAMPIONS 2008/09

YMCA Under 10s completed their first competetive season crowned as unbeaten champions of the Inkmasters Poulton Primary League Division 1B (under 9s). This followed a successful season as under 8s in which they achieved success as Foxhall Tournament Plate Winners and SCI Tournament Champions. In a memorable season, the team remained unbeaten and took the title with 5 points to spare.

YMCA Under 10s are always looking for footballers of the right age to enhance our squad. If you're interested in training with us, please call the manager via the contact page or drop an email to will.fisher@btopenworld.com. Alternatively, we train every Monday evening at Fylde Rugby Club from 6.00 to 7.00pm, if you would like to turn up. You need to be in school year 5 since September 2009 to qualify.

Following our win against Kirkham Juniors in the Coulton Plate quarter final, we will enter the draw for the semi finals with the following teams: BJFF, Staining Juniors, and the winners of the remaining quarter final tie between Fleetwood Gym and Poulton Town.

This will be another first for us as we visit Kirkham's ground for the first time, although it certainly wont be the first match between our sides. As under 8s we played Kirkham twice at our old stamping ground of YMCA's Ansdell Arena, first in November 2007 when a 3-3 draw was followed by a 4-1 win and then again on a summer's evening on 7th July 2008. On that occasion we won the first game 2-0 thanks to a Robert Pickersgill penalty and Oscar O'Neil goal followed by an emphatic 7-0 win where Harry Sagar ran riot with 4 goals, Tom Wyatt pitched in with another and our old friend Jack Bishop scored a brace.

We played Kirkham again in last season's Coulton Cup on 17th January 2009 at Seafield Road when we achieved a 5-0 victory in the first game courtesy of an Oscar O'Neil hat-trick and a couple bagged by George Wyatt followed by a 2-0 win with goals by Ross hart and Charles Shaw in which a young Isaac Eastham caught the eye for the visitors. Although Kirkham were relegated into division 1B at the end of last season they are now on the climb again in 3rd place in a very competetive league. Kirkham are bound to feel confident on their home patch this Saturday so it will take a monumental effort if we want to book a place in the semi-final draw. Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, ready to give it all you've got!

Other matches in this round see the only other surviving division 1A teams pitched together when BJFF entertain Clifton Rangers. Staining meet Layton and Fleetwood Gym await the winners of Poulton Town v Warton Typhoons.
