12s TOPPLE LEADERS BUT LYTHAM 14s SOON GET THEIR REVENGE
Just five days after our 14s ended Lytham Juniors’ 100% record by beating them 3-0 at Seafield, Lytham ended our perfect record also with a 2-0 victory over us in the return fixture at Mythop Rd. The home side took a 5th minute lead after which we failed to convert a few decent chances at the other end and it remained 1-0 at the break. Even with the stiff breeze behind us in the 2nd half we failed to penetrate Lytham’s solid rearguard and the home team sealed victory with a further goal in the closing stages and I felt that it was just about a fair result on the night. It was a very entertaining contest though and a credit to both clubs. At Seafield though our 12 kept their slender title hopes alive with an excellent 2-1 victory over league leaders South Shore, Aiden Atchison and Carl Kennedy notching our goals. Both teams were action again just 48 hours later and this both achieved victories. Our 14s bounced back from the defeat by Lytham by notching a hard earned 3-1 win at South Shore whilst our 12s claimed a 3-0 victory in a derby game at Lytham Juniors
