UNLUCKY BREAK FOR BACUP BOY
It’s never pleasant to witness anybody sustaining a serious injury whilst taking part in sport and it is particularly sad seeing such accidents happen to children, which was something that unfortunately happened during our 13s’ County Cup win over Bacup Town at Seafield. The tie was 10 minutes into the 2nd half with YMCA 6-0 ahead when one of the Bacup youngsters fell awkwardly after attempting to make a tackle. There was no contact whatsoever between the two players but when the boy landed on the ground a loud crack could be heard right around the pitch and it was pretty obvious what had happened. It was a freak accident which resulted in the game being held up for half an hour before the boy was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with a fractured left leg, something nobody wants to see.
